Founded in March of 2025, Glorysong Foundation began as the result of the musical "I Am Alive", a new telling of the New Testament Easter story as seen through the eyes of those who walked with Christ.

When Jessica Blackhurst and Katie Higley began writing "I Am Alive" in February, it was something of an accident, the creation of one song and the off-handed comment that they should write an Easter musical. As the idea began to take hold, and the music began to flow, they felt driven to see the show performed that Easter. So they planned a small performance in April of 2025, two and a half months from they day they began writing.  They invited Aimee Bennett,  to help them in their endeavor and together the three friends witnessed miracles as the musical came together.​ 

 

It wasn't long after this that the friends decided to create an official organization to produce this faith-based musical, and hopefully see many more such programs come to life encouraging believers to share testimony through talent.

An angel cast of volunteers brought the show to life on April 19th, 2025,  the night before Easter, and the experience was phenomenal! Inspiring an audience of 300+ people and expanding the vision of the creative team. ​

From the small founding team of three, the mission has grown to include board members, donors and sponsors, and like minded creators willing to team up to make miracles happen. And the vision of the foundation has expanded. Now in addition to creating and producing faith-based musicals, the foundation also runs these programs:

The Glorysong Podcast is an open invitation platform where everyday creators from around the world are invited to share their "Glorysong" with the world, whether a hymn or an original creation.

The Tribute Song Program: Truly celebrating the glory song in each of us, the Glorysong Foundation writes original songs of tribute for those who have passed on or are nearing the end of their life. Families can commission a tribute song for their loved one through partnering funeral homes or through the foundation directly. Additionally, The Tribute Song Fund is a donation based account that provides tribute songs for free to families suffering particular hardship and tragedy from the loss of a loved one. Above all the Glorysong Foundation has found strong purpose in helping regular people discover that they too have a glory song to sing for God, lighting the world and strengthening faith.
